Large rare original French antique cast iron door knocker.

This door knocker has a hand holding a laurel wreath with a lions head at the bottom of the wreath. The detail on the cast is good and crisp. The hand is fixed to the door using a metal spike attached at the back. The wreath lifts and knocks on the door. Please note there is no strike with this peice.

This door knocker is on the large end of the scale and is clearly very old, worn and heavy. Truly original it would of come from a large and imposing home or chateau.
